Strengthening Immigrants

My mother is an American citizen, but she wasn’t always. From my own family story I know that immigrants make sacrifices to come to our county, because they believe in our values and our mission. Yonkers, and Westchester as a whole, are made more vibrant by their immigrants. The county has taken first steps to prevent our funding from supporting federal enforcement that would target peaceful undocumented residents. The next step is to ensure they are well represented in the legal system in order to avoid unnecessary trauma for them and their children.
