Expanding Access to Public Transportation
Supporting working families in Westchester means improving our public transportation. County bus services transport 32 million people annually, 70% of which are without access to a car. Riders point to overcrowding and timeliness as primary problems. A smoother and quicker commute contributes to a healthier quality of life and helps us spend more time with our loved ones.
The majority of routes run in the southern and more urban areas of the county. Expanding bus routes helps connect every corner of the county and ensures equal access to its citizens.
Public bus services also improve the quality of life of seniors, keeping them independent and mobile past retirement. I will make sure public transportation gets the attention it needs to let our community enjoy all that Westchester has to offer.
